About Us

Founded in 1965, Community Concepts, Inc. is a Community Action Agency and a 501c (3) non-profit

organization whose mission is to provide leadership, education and financial resources to Maine residents to

help them meet immediate basic needs while providing families with assistance to help them move out of

poverty and become self-sufficient members of the community.

Community Concepts also fosters economic development in Maine through its subsidiary, Community

Concepts Finance Corporation (CCFC), a Community Development Financial Institution and a 501c (3)

non- profit organization, which provides loans and resources to help businesses and families grow and

thrive.

Mission Statement

Community Concepts’ mission is to provide leadership, education and support to build thriving individuals, families and communities. To strengthen individuals, families and communities in Western Maine by providing diverse programs, by engaging in strategic partnerships, and through advocacy that addresses the barriers to promote economic opportunities for all.

CCI is dedicated to helping people to achieve self-sufficiency by:

• Reducing the burden of poverty and

• Improving the quality of life in the rural and urban communities we serve
