*Position Summary: *____This position is responsible for maintaining a safe and supportive environment where our adult members are treated with dignity and respect. Promotion of member development and personally satisfying lifestyles, while providing opportunity for independence and increasing self-sufficiency, is our expectation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support, and encourage members to achieve their highest level of self-sufficiency in the areas of self-care, independent living skills, and social and community awareness.
- Independently initiate household maintenance/upkeep as necessary, informing House Manager/Administrator of any repair needs as soon as possible.
- Transport members in approved vehicles as activities require.
- Act as a role model, maintaining professional, respectful relationships with members and providing clear and consistent boundaries as necessary.
- Ensure medication distribution following successful completion of Medication Course (CRMA).
- Support, Assist and encourage members in all areas of daily living including, but not limited to: personal care, feeding, socialization, recreation and leisure activities.
- Complete daily documentation requirements for each shift by using the Agency electronic recordkeeping system (ERK).
Requirements
- Must have a desire to work with individuals with developmental disabilities
- Must have a High School diploma or equivalent
- Must have valid driver's license from state of residence and clean driving record
- Must be proficient in speaking, reading and writing English
- Must complete Agency and State mandated trainings within specified time frame
- Must maintain certification requirements
- Must be able to transfer adults weighing 75-150lbs with two assists and/or mechanical lift
- Must be reliable and maintain an acceptable attendance record
