The University of Maine at Augusta has part-time openings for adjunct instructors in Augusta to teach students in clinical and in the online environment, using Blackboard, with occasional face to face classroom experiences in the BSN Program. Openings are anticipated for the Fall 2020 and Spring 2021 semesters.
Our teaching facilities include a state-of-the-art simulation center on the Augusta campus and smart classrooms. Salary: The salary range is per credit hour, commensurate with qualifications and experience , in accordance with the PATFA contract.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
- Current licensure as a RN in the State of Maine, or eligibility for Maine licensure.
- A Master of Science degree in Nursing.
- Three or more years of teaching at the college level.
- Clinical practice within the past five years in area of expertise.
- The ability to teach effectively at both the pre-licensure and RN BSN level, as needed.
- Teaching that includes the use of new technologies and delivery systems; experience teaching students at a distance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ph.D. or other doctoral degree in nursing or closely related field (required to pursue tenure).
- National certification as an Advanced Holistic Nurse (AHNCC), or willing to seek certification.
- Teaching experience within a concept based curriculum with an emphasis on caring science.
- Experience in teaching in simulation and online environments.
