The University of Maine Farmington is seeking applicants for the position of Assistant Professor of Psychology.
A full-time, tenure-track position is available in the Psychology Division, beginning September 1, 2021. Full-time teaching responsibilities (3 + 3 teaching load) will be in the area of counseling psychology at the bachelor and master's level (Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology). Courses might include social and cultural foundations of counseling, creative arts in counseling, child and family counseling, career counseling, ethical principles in counseling, abnormal psychology, measurement and evaluation, and addictive disorders, as well as courses in the applicant's areas of personal expertise or interest. Other responsibilities include advising undergraduate students and contributing to the development and growth of the master's program. Our Psychology Department consists of eight who love teaching and have, or once had, a sense of humor. We are looking for an exceptional educator with the ability, energy, and intellectual charisma to be a first-rate teacher and active professional.
This position reports to the chair of the division.
Qualifications:
Required:
An earned doctorate in clinical/counseling psychology at the time of hire, preferably from an APA or CPA accredited program, is required. Earned doctorates in other related disciplines with a master's in clinical/counseling psychology will be considered. Licensure or eligibility for licensure as a clinician in Maine is required.
