  • Answers and reviews telephone calls, emails, and other inquiries, directs or screens calls as needed and makes appointments for the Town Manager
  • Conducts internal audits, supervises the preparation of monthly statements of accounts showing the status of appropriations, expenditures, and remaining balances.
  • Maintains a General Ledger and journal for the recording of all transactions.
  • Assists the Town Manager with forecasting, projecting, and long-term financial planning.
  • Prepares, analyzes, and interprets financial reports and/or studies.
  • Works closely with the Town Treasurer to administer Town deposits and accounts in all forms.
  • Processes warrants and bills payable, checking for sales tax, mathematical accuracy, vendor and account numbers, and other related issues for all town departments.
  • Supervises office purchases and bill payments.
  • Responds to other routine requests independently.
  • Proofs and verifies Town Department individual payrolls, including pay rates, hours worked, account numbers, mathematical accuracy, and contractual basis of payments.
  • Supports Town Manager in grant submission, tracking of grant revenue and receipts, and publishing results.
  • Assists in the submission of claims to insurance agencies for property damage, accidents involving town vehicles, etc. and maintains files.
  • Undertakes special projects as assigned by the Select Board and Town Manager independently.
  • May assist in proving monthly cash receipts.
  • May assist in balancing specific accounts monthly with the Treasurer, Collector or other departments.
  • Prepares and executes presentations on various subject matters as assigned by the Board of Selectmen and Town Manager.
  • Respond to requests from other departments, including school dept., for information and assistance with special project.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and in conjunction with other town departments.

Requirements

  1. Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
