The Town of Brunswick is seeking exceptional candidates for this challenging and responsible position in Public Safety.  Located within the Brunswick Police Department; the selected candidate will operate a complex telecommunication system, transmitting and receiving radio messages and responding to requests from citizens by phone or in person for all public safety services, including a NG911 system.  This is a rotating 40-hour per week position involving daytime, evening, overnight and holiday shifts.

The successful candidate must have a high school diploma or GED, as well as experience and proficiency in the use of computers.  You must also have the ability to receive and disseminate information accurately and without delay; maintain composure during extremely demanding and potentially stressful situations and have a high attention to detail.  Prior experience preferred; however, detailed training will be conducted with the selected candidate.  Training will also include required certification for a State of Maine PSAP and Dispatch Center. 

Following application, candidates will be advised of details regarding a mandatory position-specific written/audio test.  Interviews will be extended to the highest-scoring candidates, to be determined based on the final application count.  The final candidate must pass an extensive background check, pre-employment physical (including audiogram), polygraph and psychological exam.  This Union position has a starting pay range of $17.85 to $21.10 per hour, depending on experience.  The Town's benefits include options for health, dental, life and disability insurances; retirement plan choices, paid vacations, compensatory time, personal time and holidays.
