The Opportunity Alliance is seeking a Residential Nurse to join our Gordon Green adult residential program.
This position contributes to the accomplishment of the Agency’s mission through performing direct service and nursing care to the residential clients. This position provides direct nursing care to the residential clients, the evaluation of medication management practices, pertinent health education programming, and the care coordination of physical health needs of clients with medical providers. The Gordon Green Residential Nurse also participates in the Quality Activities as requested or needed to maintain compliance and best practices in providing health services at TOA.
The Gordon Green Residential Nurse is a member of the leadership team at Gordon Green located in South Portland. Gordon Green is a long-term care facility dually licensed as a mental health and assisted housing program. The program seeks to offer a supportive, safe, and secure environment that works to support and enhance independent functioning, respect, dignity, health, wellness, hope and quality of life for residents. The program offers a range of supports and resources in a “home like” environment for adults with co-occurring, multi-occurring symptoms of mental illness, aging, medical and emerging medical issues, life limiting or life-threatening illnesses.
This is a Full Time, 32 hours per week, hourly paid position located in South Portland
Qualifications:
- Registered nurse holding a valid license in good standing to practice nursing in the State of Maine is required; with two (2) to four (4) years of experience required, with one of those years being in clinical practice in mental health nursing.
- Experience with Mental Health and co-occurring disorders preferred.
- Intermediate computer skills in programs including Microsoft Word, Excel and Power point preferred.
- Strong written and oral communication, interpersonal skills and attention to detail required.
- Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background, child protective service check & sex offender check and must not be on the state or federal suspension and disbarment list.
- If MHRT is required for position youmust pass CNA registry check
- Must be able to pass pre-employment physical and TB screen.
- Normal office conditions and must be able to exert moderate physical effort with occasional standing, walking, reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, typing and frequently lift and or material weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Position involves operation of a motor vehicle Driving to attend meetings and trainings and for the occasional need to meet with clients offsite and within the program service area. This may include transportation of clients** or** driving to agency location to complete work. A good driving record is required.
