*TEMPORARY Administrative Support *

The Opportunity Alliance is seeking a Temporary Administrative Support worker to support our COVID-19 Contact Tracing/Rent Relief program.

This Administrative Support position is clerical in nature with phone contact with those in need of rent assistant and their landlords. This position contributes to the accomplishment of the Agency’s mission through the provision of administrative support to the Access & Intake Department. This position includes service of a diverse population, supporting a dynamic team through clerical tasks and efficient communication. Primary duties include contact with tenants and landlords, determining rent relief eligibility and maintaining documentation in an electronic record. Creation of a trauma informed setting with dignity and respect for all who enter the program.

*This is a Temporary, Full Time/40-hour position being offered to provide support through the current pandemic. *

*Due to the temporary status of this position, this position is not eligible for agency benefits. *

*The position is located in Portland.  *

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of High School diploma or equivalent required.  Associate Degree in business or related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of computer programs including but not limited to Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel; excellent customer service skills required, basic office management and administrative skills required.
  • 1-year administrative support or reception experience in a busy office with multiple demands and client/program interactions preferred.
  • Cultural awareness of the diverse population of new Mainers important. 
  • Must be able to engage people with respect and dignity.
  • Ability to support a dynamic team built on wellness and recovery.
  • Must be able to able to successfully pass a criminal background, child protective service check & sex offender check and must not be on the state or federal suspension and disbarment list.
  • Must be able to exert moderate physical effort with occasional standing, walking, reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, typing and frequently lift and carry small children or material weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Driving may be necessary to attend meetings and trainings but is not a primary and essential job responsibility.
