The Inventory Control/Stockroom Supervisor is responsible for monitoring and maintain accurate inventory levels, performing monthly cycle counts and reconciling inventory discrepancies. This position is focused on improving systems to accurately record inventory levels to meet production orders. The Inventory Control/Stockroom Supervisor also leads and supervises the stockroom team and will be responsible for the stockroom workflow to achieve optimum efficiency and inventory accuracy in the area. The position will be responsible for the safety of the stockroom team, procedure development, administration, scheduling tasks, cycle counting, housekeeping, and quality.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Inventory Control

· Maintains accurate inventory records and adjusts inventory as needed

· Investigates and resolves any count discrepancies and identifies solutions for accurate inventory counts

· Identifies root cause through analysis and implements effective corrective actions

· Develops and implements procedures for ensuring inventory accuracy

· Effectively uses ERP software to run inventory control processes and manage productivity through reports and monitoring

· Communicates clearly and effectively with Buying, Engineering, and Production Teams in order to maximize inventory accuracy

· Works with entire Supply Chain and other departments to monitor and maintain appropriate inventory levels

· Develops and maintains a “point of use” process that will support the overall material strategy of Lean Operations

· Responsible for inventory accuracy as measured by cycle counts and year-end physical inventory

· Facilitates entire cycle count process, researches and identifies the root cause of problems

· Trains other employees in cycle counting and inventory control

· Reports results of audits and conditions causing errors and omissions in inventory transactions to appropriate management

Stockroom Supervision

· Oversees the receiving function for raw material, including matching received inventory against purchase orders, and the reviewing and identification of discrepancies in received inventory

· Coaches and develops team members, including communicating team goals and identifying new areas for training

· Develops standard operating procedures and ensures team members follow industry standard best practices

· Schedules the activities of the stockroom team members

· Works closely with Manufacturing Supervisors to promote efficient utilization of space and resources

· Manages month-end process by analyzing negative report and taking appropriate corrective actions prior to month end close

· Develops and trains the team, ensuring that associates are properly trained and utilizing systems as intended

· Ensures team members have tools and resources required to work safety and effectively

· Completes annual performance reviews with team members

· Maintains organization and cleanliness of Stockroom

· Ensures all equipment is properly maintained

· Ensures team is following compliance guidelines and meeting quality standards

General

· Collaborates across departments to ensure efficient and positive working relationships between team members

· Recommends corrective actions to be taken for problems identified

· Performs special transactions for alternate routings and bills of material as needed

· Provides value to our customers by using Lean tools and concepts to identify and eliminate waste in all forms (scrap/rework, transportation, motion, waiting, inventory, over production, over processing, and under-utilization of people)

· Uses systemic thinking by seeing processes from end to end, and works to challenge the status quo to eliminate the root cause of problems. Is involved in individual and/or team activities that involve using Lean tools and concepts to improve the flow of information and material.

Requirements

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

· Must be able to stand/walk for extended periods of time.

· Able to lift to 50 lbs.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

· 5 years experience required

· Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred

· Experience implementing and/or administering a full cycle count program

· Strong ERP transaction skills/experience

· Strong communication skills

· Good problem-solving skills

· Good computer skills

· Able to act proactively to ensure smooth team operations and effective collaboration
