Position Summary
- The Ultrasound Supervisor is an Ultrasonographer who is RDMS. The Supervisor is responsible for the coordination and daily operations of the Ultrasound Department. The Ultrasound Supervisor will oversee the training of new employees and supervise the work flow and staffing according to volume demands. The Ultrasound Supervisor is responsible to assist in the development and implementation of quality imaging and standards, safety protocols, procedure protocols and scheduling protocols. The Ultrasonographer works in conjunction with the Radiologist, Radiology Director and the Ultrasound Supervisor to meet the general goals and mission statement of SMHC.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
Education: See "License/Certifications"
License/Certifications: Completion of a certificate or degree course of study specifically in Ultrasound preferred. Must be RDMS certified in at least 3 categories. CPR certification required.
Experience: Must have at least 5 years' previous Ultrasound experience on a full time basis. Three years' proven supervisory experience preferred.
Participates in continuing education and maintains knowledge through appropriate technical journals, in-services and education programs in order to maintain and enhance expertise.
Must have strong interpersonal skills.
Teaching ability required.
Excellent written and oral communication skills required.
