Position Summary:

This position is responsible for oversight, coordination, maintenance and monitoring of the Bank’s Item Processing functions with emphasis on the daily operations. This position provides technical support and guidance to department and branch personnel.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assigns work to staff; prepares the IP schedule; provides training and guidance as necessary; and oversees the daily Item Processing operations.
  • Assists the AVP of Deposit Services with developing, recommending and implementing operational procedures and IP system enhancements.
  • Assists AVP of Deposit Services with making routine employment decisions and provides input on operational performance of Item Processing staff.
  • Responsible for set-up, technical support, maintenance and training on all Item Processing software and systems.
  • Lead contact for PrintMail for outsourced statements, bills and notices, including interface, support, installs, updates of systems and documents.
  • Prepares and updates Item Processing procedures
  • Reviews regulations and recommends changes in regard to check processing and imaging.
  • Maintains and orders supplies for the Item Processing department.
  • Completes a variety of management reports as requested.

This position also assumes all the functions and duties of an Item Processing Clerk as listed below.

  • Enters data into the Jack Henry 4|sight software program, captures and balances work received from branches daily.
  • Assists Branches with Branch Capture, machine or processing problems.
  • Builds, proves and prints all checking and savings statements.
  • Processes statement, notice and loan bill files.
  • Processes check and cash letter adjustments through the Fed-Web system.
  • Processes all customer research requests.
  • Places service calls on Jack Henry 4|sight software and hardware as necessary.
  • Responsible for a variety of Mail Room duties.
  • This position works in a rotating schedule.
  • Provides excellent customer service both internally and externally utilizing Integrity Customer Service principles.
  • Assumes additional responsibilities as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent GED required
  • One to three years related experience and/or training.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong and effective communication skills, both oral and written.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work with little supervision and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent keyboarding skills; ability to operate a 9-key adding machine.

Working Conditions:

  • General office environment
  • Physical surroundings are generally pleasant and comfortable
  • Moderate lifting (to 35 lbs.) required. Moderate reaching, walking, sitting and standing required.
