Skowhegan Savings Bank is seeking an individual to join our team as *Commercial Lender *in Portland, Maine.

Reporting to the SVP, Regional Market Leader, the candidate will be responsible for growing the commercial loan portfolio in the Portland region. The Commercial Lender, will be responsible for building and maintaining commercial banking relationships by developing commercial loan prospects, generating loans, referral leads, and other sources to include Commercial & Industrial, Commercial Real Estate, and Construction Financing, as well as making referrals to other banking services. The candidate will also be responsible for collecting and analyzing financial and other related data in order to determine the credit worthiness of the borrower, as well as prepare proposals, establish and negotiate terms under which credit will be granted in compliance with loan underwriting guidelines, originate, process, approve within lending authority, and close commercial loan products.

We are looking for a dynamic individual with drive and determination to maintain existing and establish new business relationships. The candidate must have knowledge of commercial lending, bank products and services and demonstrated proficiency with analyzing financial statements, strong sales, negotiation and networking skills. Must have strong analytical and critical thinking skills, be detail oriented, and demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. AS/BS degree or equivalent work experience and 5+ years of experience in Commercial Banking; a combination of education and experience may meet qualifications.
