Pen Bay Creative Learning Center is seeking a dynamic assistant teacher to join our team! We are NAEYC accredited with a great reputation for providing high quality care and education to children ages 0-5.  If you have experience working with young children in a group setting and love to be a part of helping them grow and learn, we want to hear from you!

  • Position Summary

    • The Assistant Teacher is responsible for assisting the classroom teacher in providing comprehensive, developmentally appropriate care and education for young children in cooperation with families, co-teachers, and administrators based on current standards of best practice in the field of early care and education.
  • Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

    • Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.

    • Ability, desire and sincere commitment to work with young children in a high-quality, developmentally appropriate program

    • License/Certifications: Current CPR and first aid certification (or ability to become certified upon hire) (5.A.03)

    • Experience: Six months of childcare experience.

    • Must have a minimum of a CDA credential awarded by the Council for Professional Recognition (or be working toward one with a mutually agreed upon completion date)

    • Must be at least 18 years of age

    • Must be willing to increase educational credentials as standards in the field advance (as required by state licensing, NAEYC accreditation, etc.)

    • Basic knowledge of children and child development

    • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
