Penquis, a social services agency serving Penobscot, Piscataquis, and Knox counties for over 50 years, seeks candidates for the following open positions at the Freeses Assisted Living Facility located at 10 Water Street in Bangor.  Shifts Include:

• 40 hour day shift CRMA/PSS
• 40 hour evening CRMA/PSS
• 32 hour evening CRMA/PSS
• 40 hour day PSS
• 36 hour day/evening PSS
• 40 hour overnight CRMA
• 30 hour overnight CRMA

Per diem available on all shifts

$1.00/hr shift differential offered for weekend shifts. Shift differential also offered for evening and overnight shifts (rate depends on shift).

CRMA’s help residents maintain their independence by providing a variety of tasks, including personal care based on individual care plans, medication administration, housekeeping, food service, dining room set up, activities with residents, and laundry.

Requirements include experience providing personal care to the elderly and a positive attitude regarding the dignity, privacy, and autonomy of older persons. High School diploma or equivalent and CRMA certification and Personal Support Specialist (PSS) certification required, or for individuals with prior certification and relevant work experience must be obtained within 3 months of hire. Upon hire and thereafter, must have background check results which are satisfactory to Penquis and indicate no previous or current record of involvement with child abuse, neglect or exploitation and no disqualifying criminal record or motor vehicle record as outlined in current contract provisions. Penquis will subsidize cost of certifications. The starting pay for this position is $12.30 per hour and additional compensation may be given consideration with relevant experience.
