Responsibilities: The Chief Operating Officer (COO) acts as a supervisor and leader, ensuring that the organization and employees are carrying out the vision of the agency. This person must have highly effective verbal and written communication skills, systematic operational supports and controls, administrative and strategic implementation as well as the ability to create and develop comprehensive systems to effectively grow and sustain the organization while ensuring financial strength and operational excellence.
The COO works as part of the executive leadership team overseeing all operational and administrative functions. The COO supervises members of the executive team and ensures high quality performance, accreditation, responds to proposals and program development, effectively represents the agency with state departments and funders and provides advocacy as indicated for services and resources. This role works with the Executive Director/CEO and Board on progress toward agency goals and issues of importance. This person will also support the Agency’s strategic plan and development initiatives.
Qualified candidates must possess a Master’s Degree in the field and at least ten years of senior leadership experience in a human service organization.
