Position Summary
The Senior Director of Compliance is responsible for overseeing MaineHealth’s integrated Corporate Compliance and Privacy Programs by providing policy and regulatory subject matter support for a health system that employs a workforce of 22,000 Care Team Members. Reporting to MaineHealth’s VP of Audit & Compliance Services, the Senior Director of Compliance leads a team of professionals to ensure the existence of appropriate policies and procedures, identify and investigate areas of risk, partner with management to develop risk mitigation plans, and provide meaningful education to the entire MaineHealth Care Team. The Senior Director of Compliance role is a visible position that communicates regularly with the MaineHealth System Compliance Officer, Senior Leadership, Compliance and Privacy Committee’s and the MaineHealth Board of Trustees Audit Committee.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
- Education: Bachelor's degree in clinical field required. Master's degree in business administration, hospital administration, or other related field preferred.
- License/Certification: Possess a compliance professional certification or with the expectation of earning a certification within one year.
- Experience: 10 years of healthcare or related consulting experience specifically in compliance and privacy.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with leaders, physicians, administrators, outside agencies, and all levels of system personnel in relation to appropriate practices and compliance.
- Ability to direct the processing, collection, maintenance and analysis of compiled information and the preparation of reports from this data.
- Ability to analyze data and interpret it to others.
- Ability to work independently and self-directed.
