Job Description

Pay range for this position is $20.14-$22.59.

This is an intermediate level position to work as a Yard Rigger. Applicants may be assigned to a variety of Y02 Trade tasks, including (but not limited to): selecting and assembling rigging gear, determining load capacities of gear, attaching and un-attaching loads to lifting gear, performing basic hand rigging, service lifts, drift lifts, operating mobile equipment, and inspecting rigging gear.

Required/Preferred Education/Training

Required - High School Diploma or GED.
Required - More than 1 year previous rigging experience.
Preferred - Crane experience.

Required/Preferred Experience

Required - Must be able to work on ships, on the ground, and in all buildings.
Required - Must be able to identify the correct type sling for a given application
Required - Must be able to determine sling angles and associated capacities.
Required - Must demonstrate usage and understanding of "Standard Hand Signals".
Required - Must meet the requirements of the Y02 physical task analysis.
Preferred - Ability to explain basic terms such as: Load Radius, Working Load Ratings, Gross Capacity, Net Capacity, Rated Capacity, Sling Angle and Usage Criteria.
