Job Status


The Business Analyst works with FedPoint business stakeholders, software development staff, and on occasion third-party vendors, in an effort to identify and correct defects within current systems and to implement new efficiencies within the technology solution. The Business Analyst in conjunction with the aforementioned business partners, enhances the current system as well as works to develop new systems to address business and client needs. Primary responsibilities of the Business Analyst include problem solving system defects and identifying and implementing appropriate solutions or work-arounds for the defect. Creates detailed Business Requirements documenting the system defects/enhancements needed, and facilitating other key steps in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) leading to successful implementation of the system solutions or the new enhancement/efficiency. In addition, the Business Analyst is responsible for developing detailed SQL controls/queries used for system defects, corporate reporting, audits, and vendors.

Required

3+ years’ experience gathering and writing detailed business requirements, creating test plans and cases, and performing formal User Acceptance Testing. 2+ years’ experience developing and executing complex queries against a database to extract data for reporting and analysis. This includes developing/running controls to ensure accuracy of data, file extracts, and reports. Must have strong working knowledge of Visio, Access, Excel and Word. Proven process/technical writing ability. Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong working knowledge of relational databases and reporting tools such as SQL Server, Oracle, DB2, TOAD, BRIO, Crystal and/or Access. Solid understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). Strong facilitation skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels. Ability to identify business/project risks, escalate appropriately, and participate in developing risk mitigation strategies. Strong technical aptitude to communicate effectively with technical resources, yet the ability to work with non-technical business stakeholders to understand and document business requirements. Proven attention to detail and follow through and analytical / problem solving skills. Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented collaborative environment. Actively assume responsibility and demonstrate initiative. Ability to multi-task and demonstrated flexibility to shift priorities as business needs dictate. Proven time management skills. High School diploma or equivalent required.

Preferred

Certifications or course-work in business / systems analysis preferred.
