Your Role: FMI is seeking a detail oriented and hands on Engineering Technician to add to their Manufacturing Engineering team. This new role is responsible for enabling our manufacturing processes to run efficiently. This includes support of plant engineering projects as well as direct support of production equipment. You will be a critical part of the engineering team with a primary focus on the hands-on execution of work. Some examples are fabrication of new equipment, processing of production hardware, inspection of materials, equipment fault finding, and development of manufacturing improvements. Successful candidates will have the ability to read, interpret and execute technical instructions, procedures, drawings, manuals, work orders and travelers. You will also be able to clearly communicate and maintain documentation for projects and processes. Mechanical aptitude and solid hands-on skills will be crucial, as well as the ability to work independently and within teams.

Essential Responsibilities

• Support multiple manufacturing operations and some development processes
• Maintain process records, lab books, operate recording equipment, etc.
• Prepare new equipment for operation and perform post process service to equipment
• Work with maintenance team to troubleshoot equipment issues
• Participate in root cause analysis investigations as part of a team
• Follow technical direction and communicate results
• Implement facility improvements and contribute to Lean initiatives
• Follow all safety practices for handling materials and operating processes
• Operate with a safety first attitude: be aware of potential hazards and apply proper care and consideration
• Some computer skills are required, mostly Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Outlook
• Use of various form of PPE will be required at times; cartridge respirator, goggles, visors, gloves, aprons, Tyvek suits, etc.
