As a Mechanical R&D Engineer, the focus will be on electro-mechanical and thermal-fluid systems. You will enjoy:

• Variety of Work. Work on several “clean-sheet” R&D projects at a time. Example current/past projects: spacecraft cryogenic systems, compact combustors, vacuum pumps for Mars rovers, compact heat exchangers, aerosol devices for administering pharmaceuticals, liquid nitrogen cooling systems for cutting tools, precision scroll pumps, and turbines with shaft speeds greater than 500,000 rpm.

Professional Requirements

The ideal candidate will bring 10+ years of mechanical engineering design experience in industry (preferably in R&D), excellent academic credentials (MSME, or equivalent combination of education and experience), the ability to design for a wide range of fabrication processes, capabilities in FEM and CAD, and excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and communication. P.E. licensure is a plus but not required.
