Role:

To assist members and potential members with their membership account needs. Explains services, opens a variety of accounts, cross sells products and services and manages specific deposit operations and lending functions. Also provides clerical and administrative support needed to the Branch Manager. Functions as a loan processor for the purpose of closing in person loans and providing back-up support.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

Primarily takes phone calls, answers deposit operations, loan and card services questions. Assists members with opening and closing all Credit Union deposit accounts including, but not limited to, shares, checkings, money markets, certificates of deposit and IRAs.

Serves as a Membership Officer for the Credit Union; reviews and approves new account paperwork and documentation to ensure the Credit Union is in compliance and all file maintenance is accurate. May also serve as the lead for the IRA program, Certificate of Deposit program or Electronic Services. Facilitates the IRA and CD programs, ensuring that the Credit Union is in compliance with all forms filed, file maintenance on accounts in accurate and up-to- date and certificates are renewed as instructed. Facilitates the Electronic Services program includes responding to electronic services communications from members and serves as an Administrator for programs including, but not limited to, Home Banking, Bill Payer, eAlerts and Mobile Banking.

Identifies cross-sell opportunities and cross-sells products and services to members.

Work with the Branch Manager and AVP of Deposit Operations to support department needs and processes including Abandoned Property and IRA Fair Market Values and more.

Prepares reports as required and ensures they are accurate and complete.

Acts is a back-up capacity as a Member Representative, Loan Servicing and Payment Service Specialist.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Performance Measurements:

  1. To provide prompt, accurate, courteous, friendly, timely and professional service to all members.
  2. To process member transactions with minimal errors.
  3. To develop, improve and maintain knowledge and skills in Member Service areas including deposit operation products and services.
  4. To maintain a professional work environment and business-like appearance.
  5. To troubleshoot and resolve member and internal inquiries in a timely, friendly and accurate manner.
  6. To open new accounts for members including, but not limited to, shares, checking, money markets, certificates of deposit, IRAs and business accounts.
  7. To discuss all products and services with members at account opening and identify additional products or services that may benefit the member.
  8. To develop, improve and maintain knowledge and skills in Lending Department areas including loan processing and card services products and services.
  9. To review and approve new account paperwork completed by other employees to verify accuracy; follow up on any errors and ensure they are resolved.
  10. To review and close loans as needed that are initiated by other employees, verify accuracy; follow up on any errors and ensure they are resolved.
  11. Oversee the Credit Union's IRA program; submit documentation to the Credit Union's 3rd party, renew certificates and ensure all paperwork and file maintenance is accurate.
  12. Oversee the Credit Union's CD program; renew certificates and ensure all paperwork and file maintenance is accurate.
  13. Respond to member needs in regards to electronic services including home banking, bill payer and mobile banking.
  14. Perform the annual Abandoned Property process; ensure dormant accounts are properly closed and funds are sent to the State as deemed appropriate.
  15. Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports as necessary including IRA withholdings, abandoned property, dividend checks, loan processing reports and more.
  16. To perform Levies as directed to by authorized personnel including securing funds and sending them out as deemed appropriate.
  17. To track and keep a record of all incoming and outgoing wire transfers.
  18. Act in a backup capacity as a Member Representative, Loan Servicing and Payment Service Specialist.
  19. Adhere to the Service Standards and Employee Expectations set forth by the Credit Union.
