*****************************************************************************
Colby's reputation and resources have expanded dramatically under President David Greene's leadership over the last six years. Applications have swelled from slightly more than 5,000 to nearly 14,000 since 2015; the College launched a $750 million comprehensive campaign, Dare Northward, the largest campaign among all liberal arts colleges; the College's leaders and innovative programs have an increasingly visible presence in the national media (e.g., The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, Forbes, CNBC, CNN, Fox, PBS, NPR, and others); the city of Waterville is being transformed through a partnership with Colby and more than $100 million in collective investments; the Colby College Museum of Art, one of the finest college art museums in the country, is a destination for study and tourism alike; and faculty research and scholarship have been highlighted by multiple outlets.

Reporting to the vice president for college advancement, the senior director of annual giving oversees a staff of nine and supports approximately 450 volunteers responsible for securing unrestricted annual gifts from the College's 25,000 living alumni. Colby has set an aggressive goal to become the leading annual giving program among liberal arts colleges, reflecting the ground-breaking size of its campaign. The senior director will move the Colby Fund to a position of excellence defined by innovation and collaboration, resulting in a dramatic expansion of volunteers and year-over-year increase in revenue. Historically, class- based and reunion-giving have been critical to securing current-use dollars; this individual will identify ways to leverage the existing model and build new approaches to donor engagement. To that end, the senior director will formulate strategic plans to maximize current-use dollars and maintain and increase alumni participation rates and provide direction for the team implementing the annual giving programs. The senior director will also provide strategic leadership, effective management, and inspiration to the Colby Fund team and key volunteers responsible for securing higher levels of unrestricted support from an increasingly diverse constituency. We encourage inquiries from candidates who will contribute to the diversity of our College, including its cultural and ethnic diversity.
