The food production staff member / machine operator is an integral part of the operation. The position centers around working as part of a team to run a butter production line at the creamery. This involves being trained to safely operate food production machinery, as well as wearing multiple other hats in the creamery and around the shop. The food production staff is expected to perform a number of tasks throughout their shift. A positive attitude, openness to feedback, and ability to be a part of a team are critical to be successful in this job. A willingness to demonstrate flexibility and learn new tasks, as well as the ability to multitask effectively, are also essential attributes the person in this position must possess. Daily tasks include loading and running butter making machinery, cleaning, and sanitizing, all to produce butter to our exact standards. Additional tasks include include prepping for production, washing dishes, washing tools, cleaning work areas and equipment, and stocking inventory, as well as additional tasks as instructed by management. Other assigned tasks might include assembling and packing boxes, labeling, palletizing, etc. This position does require the ability to perform repetitive assembly for the production of finished goods. You will be responsible for assembling products following strict health and safety regulations. The production team member must ensure that all products are produced in a safe manner that meets the high quality of standards required for a food production facility. This includes adhering to our personal hygiene and other standard operating procedures at all times. A successful candidate will be comfortable with pre-employment drug screening and Covid testing, as well as standing, stretching, bending, lifting up to 55 lbs, and working in a physically fast paced (sometimes refrigerated) environment. Our company has implemented strict guidelines to protect its employees and keep workers safe. These include: • Formalized and standardized operating procedures, processes and tools with a critical focus on worker safety and cleanliness. • Implemented temperature and symptom screening, increased sanitation stations and cleaning throughout the facility. • Restructured schedules and staggered breaks, as well as expanded break areas • Protective Equipment provided by Casco Bay Butter includes daily masks, sanitation stations and regular safety check-ins. • Risk management including an increase in education about COVID and adding fans and constant air flow.

This is full-time position, with a M-F schedule from 8am - Finish each day. End of shift time may vary depending on production run. There are occasional weekend shifts as needed. Pay schedule is weekly.

Requirements

A positive attitude, timeliness, and dependability are essential.

The successful candidate will be comfortable with pre-employment drug screening and Covid testing, as well as standing, stretching, bending, lifting up to 55 lbs, and working in a physically fast paced (sometimes refrigerated) environment.

Experience working in a food production facility a plus.
