Aero Heating & Ventilating, an employee-owned sheet metal contractor located in Westbrook, is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join our senior leadership team in providing day-to-day leadership to our growing organization. This unique opportunity has the potential to play an integral part in shaping the future of the company.

As a key strategic partner, the Operations Manager will serve an essential role in the ongoing growth of Aero. Aero was founded 30 years ago and has grown to 70+ employees. This role will be an important part of continuing our transition from a small, family-owned contractor to a large, employee-owned company with a key role in Maine’s commercial construction industry. The Operations Manager will be responsible for maintaining Aero’s strong family-oriented culture, expanding our client base, and ensuring ongoing financial stability and responsible, sustainable growth. Well qualified candidates will have a proven knowledge in the mechanical/contracting field as well as a passion for continuing the strong core values and family-structured culture.

We are looking for candidates with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills: a strong team player who can engage, inspire, motivate, and lead Aero team members at all levels, as well as developing new and existing partnerships with outside contractors to help enhance our business. Successful applicants will be able to demonstrate strong strategic thinking skills and the ability to see the big picture.

Other must-haves include:

  • Exceptional technology skills, especially MS Office;

  • A background in logistics, material procurement, and manpower scheduling;

  • Dynamic personality who understands flexibility and nuances in running an organization; and

  • A combination of a degree and/or 20+ years’ proven leadership ability in construction.

Aero is 100% employee-owned, so the Operations Manager will serve a pivotal role in ensuring that all of our team members have the tools needed to be successful. An understanding of ESOPs and how they work is desirable, but not required.

Requirements

  • Combination of BS and/or 20+ years’ proven leadership ability in the construction field
  • Dynamic individual with personal initiative and strategic leadership skills
  • Proven knowledge in the mechanical/contracting field
  • Background in logistics, materials procurement, and manpower scheduling
  • Exceptional technology skills, including MS Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Strong strategic thinking skills and the ability to see the big picture
  • Strong team player who can motivate, inspire, and energize team members
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to relate and communicate with all demographics
  • Passion for continuing the strong core values and family-structured culture, as well as the accountability of an ESOP
